This county is made up of the two main islands of Arran and Bute, plus Great Cumbrae, Little Cumbrae, Holy Isle, Inchmarnock and Pladda. All are situated in the Firth of Clyde. Arran (population 5,000) is a popular tourist destination, while farming and tourism are the main industries on Bute (population 7,000).
