About RED Driving School

RED Driving School has been helping people steer their career in the right direction and realise their potential of becoming a driving instructor for over 20 years. At RED, the company doesn’t simply rely on its heritage; it concentrates on delivering high-quality training and great support every step of the way.

Being a driving instructor is more than just a job. It is a profession that provides long term career prospects, unrivalled benefits and unlimited job satisfaction.

Learning to drive is a rite of passage for most young adults, so there is always a demand for professional driving instructors who are able to deliver fantastic customer service. At RED, the brand teaches people the skills of safe driving for life and ultimately helps pupils to pass their test with the minimum of hassle.

RED has an impressive score of 4.8 out of a maximum 5-star rating and was recently awarded a Platinum Service standard from Feefo - based on the reviews from trainee driving instructors.

For those who join a course on a trainee licence the franchisor supplies up to 80 hours of training with a specialist instructor trainer and you will benefit from our back-office support throughout. This PDI Trainee Licence route allows you to earn as you are training and gives you a significant advantage in preparing for and passing the DVSA’s Part 3 test. As a trainee, you will be guaranteed the opportunity of a career with RED Driving School which is arguably the best driving school in the country.

You’ll be able to qualify at your own pace and be able to fit the programme around your existing commitments. The majority of people RED Driving School trains don’t have any previous experience, however, they do possess the drive and determination to be the very best at what they do.

How does the RED Driving School franchise model work?

Trainees pay RED for their training to become a driving instructor and can take on a franchise when they have passed their second of three DVSA driving instructor tests.

The training fees are refunded when you start working with RED as a driving instructor.

Each week a franchisee fee is paid to RED which is for a service that can even include a RED branded training vehicle. There is a small variable fee for new student introductions.

All student money is then passed on directly to the instructor. The more you work, the more you earn. On average RED instructors work 30 hours per week which allows them to achieve the work/life balance they require. The average income for these 30 hours is £875 per week.

What kind of driving instructors is RED looking for?

RED Driving School has now trained more than 10,000 ADIs and is the largest driving instructor training organisation in the UK.

The brand understands what it takes to succeed.

- Do you want to be your own boss and have a rewarding career?
