Leading infection control company and franchisor, Bio-Rite, has announced new franchisee, Blandine Hosker, has taken over the Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire territory.
She will now provide Bio-Rite’s comprehensive decontamination services to the NHS and care homes in the region. Blandine, who is multilingual and has a languages degree, plus a degree in macroeconomics, originates from Palaiseau, near Versailles in Paris.
She explains: “I came to the UK for a week’s holiday more than 20 years ago and never went home. I have been a franchisee since 1995, running a cleaning company. In that time I grew my business from zero to 900 domestic clients.
“However, after two decades I decided it was time to sell up, make a clean break and try something new.
“I knew the franchise model worked, so attended a franchise exhibition and discovered Bio-Rite. The company immediately caught my attention.
“I was impressed with the team’s experience and services and a ready need in the marketplace. I also liked the idea of helping to protect vulnerable patients through effective infection control.
“Hospitals and care homes need to tackle common threats like MRSA, C.Difficile or Norovirus on a daily basis. Bio-Rite is one of the few companies in the UK that is able to offer the range of products and services needed to reduce infections within health care environments such as these.
“For example, we can offer rapid ward decontamination with the use of the Anios device, which destroys 99.99 per cent of pathogens, including infections spread through the air, such as C. Difficile.
“In addition, our mobile service will also be of interest to hospitals and care homes, as it enables us to decontaminate mattresses and used care equipment on site for a quick turnaround using a specially developed, highly effective hydrogen peroxide chamber.

Franchisee candidates are self-motivated and get on well with people. Ideally, they will have management and sales experience.
However, as full training and help with set-up will be provided, the franchise could be suitable for anyone with a broad background in business and who is determined, prepared to work hard and has the enthusiasm to succeed.
