A combined fee income of £46.6m in 2020 rose to £50.7m in 2022

The TaxAssist Accountants network saw an eight per cent increase in sales from 2020 to 2021. This was largely the result of successful campaigns run during the pandemic greatly increasing the profile of the business. With 248 franchised territories spanning 402 shops and offices – looking after 77,000 clients, TaxAssist has never been more visible.

With recent boardroom changes seeing Daren Moore FCCA brought in as managing director, there is new ambition at TaxAssist Accountants.

He said: “The TaxAssist network has performed solidly through the pandemic with a growth rate that has, in fact, outpaced many larger firms…As we enter the recovery period, which will undoubtedly go hand in hand with tax changes and higher tax bills, we have the expertise to engage and communicate with clients to ensure their compliance needs are met, as well as helping them to plan for the future, make key decisions and to understand how their business is performing.

“The support centre’s tax consulting and payroll teams are now being used by a large percentage of our franchisees, enabling them to offer a much broader range of services to clients and we plan to launch a new financial services business over the coming months. This will open up tax planning opportunities as well as individual wealth management, succession planning, inheritance planning, relevant life policies, tax-friendly investments and a range of similar services, all through TaxAssist branded shops.”
