McDonald’s has won the British Franchise Association HSBC Franchisor of the Year Gold Award

Silver went to Home Instead Senior Care, while mobile tyre fitting franchise etyres took Bronze.

The winners, revealed at the Heritage Motor Centre in Warwickshire on June 16, were judged to have brought to life the most entrepreneurial, ethical franchising in the UK today, regardless of business sector, size or geography.

Other award winners included Autosmart, the largest supplier of vehicle cleaning products to the car trade, which took the HSBC Franchisee Support Award, and Belvoir Lettings, which scooped the Express Newspapers Brand Builder prize.

“This has been another inspirational year for franchising,” says Brian Smart, director general of the British Franchise Association.

“Each year the awards unearth fantastic success stories and demonstrations of ethical franchising at work.

“Our judging panel were presented with some of the best examples of innovation, brand development and franchisee support that they have ever seen, and it has been a privilege to recognise these truly outstanding franchisors. Each of our winners is a credit to the sector.

“We hope these awards will continue to inspire the next generation of franchisors and franchisees, bringing fresh new thinking and best practice to the industry.”

Dean Chapman, head of franchising and field service at McDonald’s, adds: “We are thrilled to be presented with such a prestigious industry award.

“The core of our focus is our franchisees and providing them with the right support, training and development opportunities, so we can help them be the best and set the standard across our industry.

“Winning this award is a reflection of our dedication as a team to being a leading franchisor.”
