Rainbow International is the UK’s leading franchise supplier of disaster recovery and specialist cleaning services
The typical English summer has arrived again. One minute it’s warm and sunny, the next we’re stuck in a downpour. So as the UK experiences yet another summer of wild weather, who’s around to clean up the mess that the wind and rain leaves behind?
Rainbow International franchisees and their teams are on hand to begin the clean-up process and ensure as little damage is done as possible.
Simon Ford, operations director at Rainbow International, says: “Whenever the weather forecast’s bad, our franchisees know they’re going to be busy.
“A huge chunk of the work they do is restoration after floods or other disasters. They’re usually extremely busy in the winter, but quite often June is a very wet month and it causes chaos on the roads and for property and business owners.
“When they’re not out in all weathers cleaning up flood water, they’re also offering their specialist cleaning services, so they know they’re in business whatever the weather.”
Rainbow is the UK’s leading franchise supplier of disaster recovery and specialist cleaning services and part of global franchising giant, The Dwyer Group. It provides fire, flood and escape of water and accidental damage restoration services to many of the UK’s leading insurance companies on behalf of their policyholders.
In addition, the company provides a comprehensive range of specialist cleaning services to commercial, industrial and domestic premises, promoted by the franchisee in their designated territories. In the UK, Rainbow International is owned and operated by ISS, one of the world’s leading suppliers of integrated Facility Services.
Dev and Krutika Pabla joined Rainbow in 2015 because they were looking for a new challenge. Covering Edinburgh, Midlothian and Livingston, they have quickly adapted to the demands of running their own business.
Having invested in an already established territory, they had to hit the ground running, but Dev and Krutika have embraced the challenge and now have a business that will provide them with the opportunity to build a successful and financially rewarding future.
Dev says: “We joined Rainbow because we wanted something we could do together that would provide us with both personal and financial rewards. At our age - 27 and 28 - we realised that we don’t know everything, so really appreciated the support we received throughout the whole process.”
Having come from families of business owners, both Dev and Krutika have a strong work ethic and have seen the rewards business ownership can bring. They understand the commitment required and appreciate success does not come without hard work, drive, energy and focus.
“Our induction training was focused on all elements of the business,” Dev says. “The way the training was structured enabled us to gain hands-on technical experience, along with the information and skills required to operate and develop the business on a day-to-day basis, which was fantastic.
“With the Rainbow Fire and Flood Training House, you can physically see the damage caused by both floods and fires and how the restoration process works. The training was very full on, but it was a great way to understand the business before setting out on our own. The whole training programme was organised well and I couldn’t sing their praises any more.
“Moving forward, our focus is now on the growth of the business. We have a marketing plan in place to help us generate specialist commercial cleaning work to back up the restoration work generated by national contracts with head office.
“There are so many Rainbow services available and, with the contacts we have, there’s plenty of opportunity for us to grow a thriving and sustainable business.”
