After taking voluntary redundancy, franchisee Lynette Higgins was hoping to find something that would be more of a vocation than a job

The campaign theme for this year’s International Women’s day is ‘Choose to Challenge’ and to champion the cause, pet food home delivery service, OSCAR Pet Foods is celebrating the achievements of its female franchisees.

Franchisee Lynette Higgins said: “Taking voluntary redundancy from the Department of Work and Pensions 18 months earlier gave me the opportunity to relax and review my lifestyle options. Eventually, I came to the conclusion that it was too early to retire and considered going back to work in hope of finding something that would be more of a vocation than a job! Having worked in management, training, marketing, sales and procurement my skills are varied – giving me a variety of opportunities.

“As a lifelong pet owner I think OSCAR came to me for a reason and I really liked the concept. It had a very strong brand presence on the internet – eye-catching and professional, which also gave me confidence. I thrive on a challenge, am self-motivated and very much a people person and I could relate to the benefits of the OSCAR service.”

As one of the UK’s largest pet food home delivery service, OSCAR is an essential service offering an exciting range of nutritionally excellent pet food, treats, and boredom-busting toys and accessories for dogs, cats and small animals, whilst ensuring contactless delivery to homes.

Being at home with pets during lockdown has been a comfort to many families. And with statistics provided by the Pet Food Manufacturers’ Association confirming 9 million dogs and 7.5 million cats in the UK, the temptation to consider OSCAR Pet Foods speaks for itself.
