It was busy last week at the children franchise’s head office in Cumbria with a mix of franchise training and preparations underway for the brand’s 20th birthday
Razzamataz’s HQ was abuzz last week with franchise training sessions. The theatre school welcomed new recruits as well as renewals from those that had been in the network for five and ten years.
During the week-long training, the new franchisees had sessions with a range of experts to help with every element of running a performing arts school.
Some of the heavy hitters included award-winning franchise expert Suzie McCafferty from Platinum Wave who held a few sessions on franchising and business growth, while health and safety expert Jason Gosney and Louise Bennet spoke about child protection and inclusion, something that Razzamataz is particularly proud of.
There was also a seminar from Charlotte Young, who is a veteran of the Razzamataz network, on being a principal and running Razzamataz classes.
On the business, marketing and technical side of things, topics like GDPR, IT, business management systems, law, bookkeeping and VAT, and PR and marketing were also covered.
The franchise is renowned for supporting its franchisees, with the training week free to attend for all Razzamataz business owners.
Georgia Davies who has been a principal for Razzamataz Bristol North for less than a year was back for a refresher. “I am just about to complete my first year as a principal and have just attended franchisee training again,” she said. “I am glad I did; there is such a lot of information to retain and it is great as a refresher. I’ve picked up lots of valuable information to help grow the business.”
Even the most experienced principals find value in returning to training as Deborah Laws, principal at Razzamataz Plymouth for ten years said: “[I loved] working with my business besties on planning for growth. Thank you to everyone at the head office for these awesome opportunities.”
The Razzamataz franchise is particularly keen to expand in Wales, specifically in Cardiff and Swansea, and in Dundee and Aberdeen in Scotland and has resale opportunities in Wimbledon and Hampstead, too.
