Franchisees gathered to help maximise business growth, share best practice and celebrate another year of achievements
The conference, held at St George’s Park from Wednesday, 28 to Thursday, 29 September, offered franchisees an agenda featuring practical workshops, networking opportunities and inspiring industry speakers.
The theme of this year’s event was ‘Together we can be the change’. Over the last 12 months, Right at Home has tackled industry challenges and thought of new ways to maximise its care offering for clients, team members and communities. The conference explored how the franchise can continue to make positive changes across the network of over 70 homecare providers and the wider sector.
Speaking after the conference, Right at Home CEO, Lucy Campbell, said: “This year’s conference was one of the best yet. It was great to see so many members of our network band together and share best practices. Our speakers and workshop hosts were extremely insightful and gave us lots of great ideas to take away and work on over the next year.”
The conference kicked off with an informative session from the Homecare Association’s CEO, Jane Townsend, to discuss challenges and opportunities around the recent social care funding reforms. Jane and Right at Home’s head of quality and compliance, Simon Osborne, talked franchisees through the impact of the reforms on their businesses.
Jane was followed by dementia expert Jackie Pool, sharing her insight on the latest dementia care advancements. Now working with Quality Compliance Systems, Jackie’s revolutionary research formed the basis of the brand’s groundbreaking Dementia Support Programme. Owner of Right at Home Solent, Kev Popat, joined Jackie on stage to discuss the results achieved by clients who have joined the programme.
Day two of the conference had a jam-packed agenda of leadership, business and management sessions. Sarah Creegan from Laughology hosted an insightful look at menopause in the workplace and ways business owners can empower and support their employees. Other sessions included talks on leadership and task management, led by David Farley and Marion Hart from AvA-V, and Mark Dyble from SME Business Solutions.
Eagerly awaited by all attendees, the keynote speaker this year was Linda Moir, one of the logistical masterminds behind the London 2012 Olympics. Linda joined franchisees for a talk on engaging team members, delivering excellence and how the smallest of details can make all the difference to businesses.
Finally, the conference drew to a close with the network’s prestigious Celebration Awards. Across 12 categories, franchisees and their registered managers and caregivers were recognised for their business successes and commitment to going the extra mile.
The award ceremony saw Right at Home North Cheshire take home the prize for Overall Business of the Year, while Right at Home Guildford and Farnham secured both the Single and Multi Territory Sales Awards to highlight an incredible year of business growth.
