Sub Sandwich chain Subway is closer to overtaking the number of Pret a Manger and McDonald’s stores in the capital following the opening of its 100th Greater London store.
Subway now has more than 530 stores throughout the UK and sells more than four million sandwiches every month. It estimates it will overtake the number of Pret a Manger and McDonald’s stores in Greater London by the end of 2005 and 2006 respectively. On a national level, Subway anticipates that it will overtake the number of McDonald’s stores by 2009.
Says 100th Greater London franchisees, Adarsh and Amar Radia: “We are delighted to have reached the 100th store mark in the Greater London area. Since opening our first store, the Subway chain has seen phenomenal growth and we are very excited to be part of that expansion.”
