The milestone was reached at Euro Garages’ Eye Green Service Station in Peterborough.
The fast food franchise, which has 42,000 stores in 105 countries, has opened 77 new outlets in the UK and Ireland since the start of the year.
FORECOURT SITES
Of the 1,800 stores, there are more than 350 SUBWAY branches open in non-traditional locations such as on forecourt sites and within convenience stores.
“The opening of the 1,800th SUBWAY store in the UK and Ireland is a huge achievement,” Mike Charest, assistant regional director for SUBWAY Europe, says.
“In 2013 we opened 150 stores across the UK and Ireland.
“This fantastic level of growth is continuing this year, reflecting the strong entrepreneurial spirit of SUBWAY franchisees and our corporate partners.”
NEW FRANCHISEES
Mike adds: “We are constantly looking for new franchisees to open more stores around the UK and Ireland.
“The simple operations that are involved in running a SUBWAY franchise and the convenient, portable product offers make it a perfect fit for a variety of locations.
“The SUBWAY brand can be found in airports, universities, train stations, motorway service stations, convenience stores, shopping centre food courts and on the high street.”
