Ben Taylor and Joe McGuigan are now finalists in the 2024 BFA HSBC UK British Franchise Awards taking place in November

The annual British Franchise Awards, hosted by the British Franchise Association and HSBC, has selected two franchisees from Aspray as 2024 finalists.

Ben Taylor, franchisee at Aspray Manchester, and Joe McGuigan, franchisee at Aspray Glasgow North and South are now both in the running for awards, which will be announced on 7th November 2024.

Taylor, aged 29, has been nominated in the ‘Next Generation Franchisee’ category in recognition of his commitment to self-improvement as well as his hands-on approach to managing insurance claims for policyholders.

The former recruiter joined the claims management franchise during the pandemic and contributed to producing PPE for local hospitals. He currently runs the Manchester business alongside his aunt Lindsey, mother Tracy, and fiancée Rachel.

Meanwhile, McGuigan has been nominated in the ‘Business Builder’ category. The shortlist acknowledges the growth his business has seen since investing in Aspray back in 2013.

McGuigan’s experience has made him a key figure of influence in the franchise network and the local community, having recently raised £16,000 for Marie Curie through an eight-day bike journey through Vietnam and Cambodia.

“It is good to be recognised and put forward as a finalist for the effort my whole team have put in,” said McGuigan.

“Since joining the company in 2013, I have been committed to delivering exceptional service and support to our clients, and this nomination inspires me to continue striving for excellence.”

Taylor also commented: “I’m incredibly honoured to be nominated as a finalist at the British Franchise Awards. This recognition validates the commitment and dedication I have given to providing an unwaveringly high level of service to our clients,” said Taylor.

“Being under 30, this award also highlights the potential for success for young individuals, including those like me who have made a complete career change.”

This year’s winners will be announced during a black-tie ceremony held on 7th November in Telford.

The BFA HSBC UK British Franchise Awards are an annual industry event. It is open to members of the British Franchise Association and free to enter.
