Osama Iqbal and Safi Nayyar have partnered to open a location in Whitley Bay
Two Northumbria University graduates are preparing to open Burger Drop’s first ever franchised location.
Osama Iqbal and Safi Nayyar, who are business and economics graduates will be opening a location in Whitley Bay – hoping to capture footfall from tourists and locals.
The menu will comprise Burger Drop’s signature dishes including premium beef smash burgers, crispy chicken wings, milkshakes, and plant-based options.
Iqbal worked a part-time job as a dispatcher and packer at Burger Drop during his studies.
However, the role developed into a decision-making role for brand identity, and operational procedures which encourages Iqbal to open his own location.
“I was prepared for a corporate career and, like many students, took on a part-time job to earn extra income,” said Iqbal.
“However, thanks to the trust and guidance of our current directors, Hasan and Amer, I was able to apply my academic knowledge and practical experience to contribute to the development of the business.
“This experience instilled in me the confidence to envision owning my own branch.”
Meanwhile, Nayyar comes from a hospitality background, having worked in his family-run establishment for several years.
He also commented: “From the quality of our products to our brand identity and the integration of modern technology, this project embodies excitement.
“I eagerly anticipate growing alongside the business, leveraging my past experiences to contribute to its success.”
