The marketing franchise has partnered with The Huggard as part of World Homeless Day
activ Marketing has partnered with The Huggard, as its charity of the year, to tackle homelessness in Cardiff.
As part of the partnership, the franchise has launched a new website on World Homeless Day, which will be supported by activ Marketing over the next 12 months pro bono.
The brand says its work with the charity is a reflection of its commitment to the local community as the franchise recently moved its headquarters to central Cardiff.
Currently nearly 2,000 people in Wales are experiencing homelessness, with that figure rising to 300,000 people across the UK, according to the organisers of World Homeless Day.
Katie Bullon, CEO of activ Marketing Franchise and a Cardiff local, said: “What hit me most when we met The Huggard team earlier this year was their clear message that homelessness can happen to anyone; it can be just a few decisions away.
“This reality, especially given the current economic climate in the UK, is powerful and worrying. To be able to do our bit with the resources we are lucky to have, is incredibly important to me, particularly in my home city of Cardiff.
“I’m so proud to have brought activ back to Wales after acquiring the national franchise from its previous owner in Singapore in January 2021, transitioning from running the Cardiff territory as a franchisee to managing the franchise business nationally as franchisor.
“The newly developed website goes live today, providing The Huggard with an enhanced platform to connect with those in need and the wider community. Our aim is to do more than simply offer financial support.
“By creating and maintaining the new website free of charge, we’re helping The Huggard expand their reach and amplify their impact across Cardiff and beyond.”
Adam Rees, CEO of The Huggard, also commented: “We are incredibly grateful to activ Marketing for their generosity and support. This new website, launching on World Homeless Day, is so important if we’re to keep our clients, neighbours and the wider community informed about what we do and why.
“People who are homeless and sleeping rough on the streets of Cardiff come to us for immediate emergency support. Our role is to prepare them for an independent life by equipping them with the skills and coping mechanism they need to live an independent life.”
