The gym franchise Anytime Fitness has opened branches in Birkenhead, Upminster, and Leigh-on-Sea as enquiries rise by 60 per cent
All three gyms are operated by new franchisees, which the brand believes is evidence of sustained interest in the fitness franchise sector.
“The success of these new openings show that gyms continue to be a welcome addition to local communities,” said Daniel Penn, head of network development at Anytime Fitness UK.
“The franchise sector is proving to be incredibly resilient and it’s exciting to be able to welcome these new franchisees into our network and see them open their first locations.”
The openings mark an ongoing increase in interest from entrepreneurs looking to invest in the fitness franchise industry.
Anytime Fitness claims new franchisee enquiries have risen by more than 60 per cent during 2023.
The franchise is hopeful that the brand’s ongoing expansion will contribute to repopulating commercial spaces left empty as a repercussion of the pandemic and a turbulent economy.
“It’s been sad to see the demise of the high street in recent years and we want to play our part in occupying these empty units and giving people a reason to visit them again,” said Penn.
