The husband and wife team will be operating in their local area of Bolton, Bury and Wigan
With three tech-mad children and over 20 years of experience working in education, Richard and Emily Simcox are well placed to understand what makes computing fun and engaging for kids whilst equipping them with the skills they need to thrive and survive in an increasingly digital world.
“I am delighted to announce that Richard and Emily Simcox have taken on the Wigan, Bury and Bolton areas as ComputerXplorers franchisees,” says Nigel Toplis, chairman of The Bardon Group that owns ComputerXplorers as well as Techclean, Recognition Express and Kall Kwik.
“ComputerXplorers is not like many other franchises in that we deal with children and we also deal with education but most importantly ComputerXplorers gives those children the opportunity to embrace and learn about ‘computing’ – from coding to programming to web design to building mobile apps to creating games and working with animation. To this end, we need franchisees who have core skills in organisation and administration but are very much ‘people’ people and most importantly have and demonstrate passion. Richard and Emily meet these criteria in spades.”
The couple is excited to bring the ComputerXplorers brand of Fun with a capital F to the schools and local communities of Bolton, Bury and Wigan. When the opportunity arose to become ambassadors for ComputerXplorers, it was an easy decision to make after seeing the impact and enrichment that its curriculum provides to children across the UK.
“We are excited to be working as part of the ComputerXplorers franchise,” says Emily. “Being part of a franchise business appealed to us, as it allows us to be in control of our own destiny but with the full support of the parent company and the other members of the franchise family.”
“The in-depth training and welcome we’ve had from everyone in the group has left us feeling well prepared and raring to go! ComputerXplorers is the perfect fit for us, with my experience in schools leading and teaching computing and Emily’s background in design and social media, as well as having three tech-mad kids of our own, we are passionate about preparing children for a digital future in a fun and engaging way!” adds Richard.
In their spare time, the family enjoy travelling and visiting new places together. While Richard is an avid sports fan and a lifelong fan of Crewe Alex FC, Emily is a former fashion designer with a love of all things design related and a self-confessed social media addict!
