Headquartered in Glasgow, the gourmet doner kebab franchise chain is set to open three more stores this year.
Its second Glasgow branch and an Edinburgh outlet are scheduled to open their doors in July, with Aberdeen set for early in the fourth quarter.
The expansion will mean a total investment of over £2 million in Scotland alone and will create in the region of 150 jobs.
German Doner Kebab, which is part of the Hero Brands group, has opened 33 UK outlets during the past two years.
Daniel Bunce, GDK UK managing director, says: “As a business with its heart in Scotland, we are very excited to be announcing further growth plans across the country.
“Our idea of bringing a gourmet kebab that is healthy and nutritionally balanced has resonated with consumers in Scotland.
“Our new outlets in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen will give us key strategic locations to reach more consumers, while also creating significant job opportunities throughout the country.
“We will also continue to explore and identify new opportunities as we forge ahead with an aggressive growth strategy for Scotland and the rest of the UK.”
The Scottish growth plans follows news the brand is launching in Saudi Arabia. Master franchisee The Ajlan and Brothers Group has a development agreement to open 100 stores over the next 10 years.
As well as the UK, German Doner Kebab operates stores in Sweden, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Oman and Bahrain.
