Outsourced human resources franchise The HR Dept has launched its 100th territory in the UK and announced plans for further international expansion.
The landmark was reached following launches in February in Kent, the East Cotswolds and Birmingham.
The company, which opened in 2002 and has been franchising since 2005, now has 63 HR professionals operating in the UK territories, alongside three franchises in Ireland and five in Australia.
Managing director Gemma Tumelty is aiming to launch the business in an additional country within the next five years.
During this time she also expects to double the franchise territories to 200, while tripling the company’s client base, which currently constitutes over 6,000 small and medium-sized businesses.
Gemma says: “The advice and support provided by our licensees to small and medium-sized businesses have never been needed more than they are now. So the growth plans I have for the company are realistic as well as ambitious.
“Through outsourcing, our clients remove the potential headache of human resources, leaving it in the hands of a trusted and experienced professional who is supported by a network of other experts and a company with established systems and processes.
“The model is proving to be extremely popular in the UK and further afield, so there’s no reason why our expansion shouldn’t continue on the trajectory it has over the past couple of years.”
To manage The HR Dept’s growth, the company has made significant changes to its head office operation, which now consists of a team of 10.
