Angel Islington site is food brand's 14th in the capital
Island Poké has opened its doors in Angel Islington, London, bringing its fresh Pacific food flavours to the borough.
The new restaurant, which opened on September 29, is the brand’s 14th location in the capital and is owned by multi-unit franchisee Hemanth Bollini.
Another London outlet is scheduled to open in Richmond this month, while a further two are planned for Clapham and Notting Hill in early 2022.
The brand has developed a loyal following among Londoners and now has a full estate open, including four dark kitchens.
With its first two UK franchise partners, Island Poké plans to open a further 23 restaurants in the next five years, alongside the 42 already planned in France and Benelux during the same period.
The agreements were announced following investment from Hero Brands and will create in the region of 350 jobs.
The development plans will initially focus on London. However, discussions are underway with other partners for a further 50 UK sites.
Island Poké founder James Gould-Porter says: “We’re very pleased to be opening another ‘Island’ in Angel Islington.
“We’re just beginning to ease out the pandemic, which has been a hugely challenging period for the hospitality sector, and these new restaurants show the growing demand for our brand offering.
“We’re looking forward to expanding our brand across London and beyond, bringing people a great and fresh alternative to the traditional lunch and dine-out offering.”
