Franchise business provides vehicles and staff for free
A plantation shutters franchise is putting its vehicles and staff to good use by helping housebound members of local communities during the COVID-19 crisis.
Just Shutters, which serves over 150 UK towns and cities, has launched a ‘shop and drop’ service for customers who are unable to leave their homes to buy vital supplies.
Chris Rocker, founder of Just Shutters (pictured), explains: “There’s no cost for this service. Our only cost is a minimal amount of petrol and we all feel this is the right thing to do.
“So far we’re able to offer this service in Dorset, Hertfordshire, Sussex and Birmingham and we hope to extend this. In essence, it’s a click and collect service, though we appreciate that won’t work for everyone, so we’re asking that people call us and we’ll try our absolute best to help them however we can.
“Our team are committed to this project and are taking every precaution to look after themselves while helping others. We are following and exceeding all government best practice advice for our staff and giving our local teams clear guidelines on best safety practices.”
Dorset was the first to benefit from Just Shutters’ service.
Chris adds: “We’re very proud of Just Shutters fitter Ivan for completing our first shop and drop during the week of March 23. We’ve been overwhelmed by a flood of warm messages of support and offers of assistance we’ve received locally. Stay in, keep safe and be well.”
