Distribution specialist Sure2Door is expanding into new territories to meet consumer demand

Sure2Door was founded in 2010 by Robert Willford, an entrepreneur who saw a gap in the market for a reliable distribution service of unaddressed marketing material.

Having worked in several advertising businesses, Robert was fed up with unreliable delivery companies that promised a fantastic service, but never delivered. “I often found that magazines were sent to the wrong location or discarded in public bins,” he says. “I set up Sure2Door as an alternative to typical delivery companies and we are proud to offer quick, effective, guaranteed delivery.”

Sure2Door has established itself as the market leader in the distribution of unaddressed marketing material in Milton Keynes. Over time customers began to request that Sure2Door deliver leaflets, magazines and samples toother locations. To meet this consumer demand, Sure2Door launched a second branch in Bedford in 2011, which was run as a pilot franchise to test new ideas and refine the company’s processes away from the comfort of head office.

However, Sure2Door isn’t just a leaflet distribution business, as there are four revenue streams that help potential franchisees generate a significant income for themselves. Sure2Door franchisees earn money from helping their clients with designand print - they have also successfully introduced a voucher book featuring a wide range of special offers - in addition to the core business of distributing clients’ leaflets and magazines.

After two years of success Sure2Door recruited Jeremy Russ, its first full franchisee. Jeremy took on the task of setting up and running Sure2Door Aylesbury and Leighton Buzzard in April this year and in just two months it’s quickly becoming a successful branch of the company.

Jeremy is enthusiastic about the franchisee scheme. He says: “The initial training was great, with loads of information and processes to take in, but what really impressed me was the detail of the operation manuals - this meant that if I was unsure of anything I had been shown during training I could refer to the manual or just pick the phone up and get the answer.”

As well as his satisfaction with company training, Jeremy has also seen success within his own customer base: “Businesses are reacting very well to the service we are offering. I spend my day servicing new leads and recruiting more delivery staff. The most impressive thing about the franchise so far is that I haven’t been left on my own to generate work. In my first month I was awarded over £2,000 plus VAT in centralised work contracts to deliver leaflets for household names such as the Ambassador Theatre Group and energie fitness clubs, which has really helped to boost my business.”
