Behind the winners at the 2018 NatWest EWIF Awards are their brands - the franchises that have empowered women to reach their entrepreneurial goals.
This month, in the first of a two part series, we’re shining a spotlight on the EWIF winning brands:
Jo Middleton, winner of New Woman Franchisor 2018, owns Dog First Aid.
This business empowers its franchisees to deliver first aid workshops to both animal lovers and those who work with animals. These include dog boarders, dog handlers and dog groomers, who benefit from having lifesaving Dog First Aid skills.

Julie Houston, winner of New Woman Franchisee of the Year 2018, is a Right at Home UK franchisee.
The Right at Home management franchise is rooted in the heart of the local community. It suits people with a caring nature, as they offer support for people requiring care to be able to stay at home.
The Right at Home network shares a collective desire to engage and support local communities every day. Julie won as a result of her devotion to her new business.
Fiona Simpson, winner of Woman Franchisor of the Year 2018, owns ARTventurers. The franchise gives those with a creative flare an opportunity to use this to run art classes for babies, toddlers and children.
This business suits women who are enthusiastic and ambitious, plus have fantastic communication skills to grab the attention of children. Fiona won as a result of her dedication to building ARTventurers.
Shweta Jhajharia, winner of Woman Franchisee of the Year 2018, is an ActionCOACH franchisee.
This franchise started in 1993 to coach people in business. Franchisees help companies develop and change the way they operate for the better. For someone who is business focused, ActionCOACH is an ideal opportunity.
Shweta won as a result of her talent and focus to help others.
Ali Beckman, winner of both Woman Franchise Employee of the Year 2018 and Overall Woman in Franchising, is part of the franchise Puddle Ducks, which teaches babies and young children to swim.
Franchisees offer aquanatal, baby and child swimming classes from bump to eight years, with an emphasis on fun, confidence and skills in the water. Franchisees teach children an important lifesaving skill.
Ali won both awards due to her dedication to Puddle Ducks and the ideas she’s generated for the future of the business.
