For the first time, the Franchise Advisory Centre is offering professional development workshops for franchisors in the UK
A series of three educational workshops to be held in London in April will give British franchisors and their leadership teams new insights into best practice methods to more effectively recruit and support franchisees.
The workshops are part of a wider education programme delivered by the Franchise Advisory Centre, the largest provider of specialised education for franchisors in Australia.
Core content
Each one explores and highlights best practice in several core franchisor functions, including franchise recruitment, monitoring and managing the performance of franchisees and the resale of existing franchises.
They will also provide participants with points towards the internationally recognised Certified Franchise Executive qualification. The three workshops are:
- Effective Franchise Recruitment. Understand the recruitment process from A-Z. April 20 (9am-5pm).
- Managing Franchisee Underperformance. Strategies and tactics to lift performance. April 21 (8.30am-12.30pm).
- Managing Franchise Resales. How to facilitate the sale of existing outlets. April 21. (1pm-5pm).
The workshops are presented by Franchise Advisory Centre director Jason Gehrke, who has more than 25 years’ experience in franchising at franchisee, franchisor and advisor level. He delivers more than 50 education events for franchisors each year throughout Australia and New Zealand.
Jason’s franchising credentials include being a board member of Inspirations Paint, a chain of 132 home improvement stores; deputy chairman of the Franchise Council of Australia; chairman of the World Franchise Council; and chairman of the Asia- Pacific Franchise Confederation.
He’s also been a member of the Australian government Small Business & Franchising Consultative Committee and publisher and editor of Franchise News & Events, a franchise sector news bulletin.
Popular style
The workshop content and Jason’s presentation style has proven popular in the past, with more than half of all Australian franchise brands and more than a quarter of all New Zealand brands attending a Franchise Advisory Centre event.
They will also highlight how changes to Australia’s franchising code of conduct and the introduction of fines and penalties for franchisors has impacted the Australian franchise sector and the subsequent lessons for British franchisors.
This will be the first time the Franchise Advisory Centre has offered professional development events for franchisors in the UK.
Discounts apply for multiple registrations from the same organisation, with registration fees starting from £130 (plus VAT).
