Atif Maroof Zar and his brothers Umair Ramay and Amir Maroof have opened their fourth Papa John’s store in Bristol Kingswood, taking advantage of the company’s multi-unit franchise growth strategy in the UK.

Atif explains: “Being a multi-unit franchisee is hard work, but there is more potential to develop. Our aim is to become bigger and better and only Papa John’s offers this chance for expansion.
“As a team, myself and my brothers work well together to manage all the stores. Umair is focused on staff, looking after recruitment and timetables to ensure we have the right people working at the right time, while Amir manages the food ordering processes and I oversee the operations and marketing of the business.”
Atif worked for two rival pizza firms as well as managing a Papa John’s store before becoming a franchisee in 2017.
“With Papa John’s, it was clear the food quality was much higher than any other brand, so we expected to sell more pizza - and we did,” he says. “Hinkley was the first franchised outlet. It came up for sale and I went for it. We also run Redditch, Bromsgrove and now Bristol Kingswood.”
Papa John’s has opportunities for multi-unit franchisees throughout the UK. Help is provided with location selection as part of a comprehensive package of initial and ongoing training and support.
