Customers in Derby can buy Pieminister’s signature pie and mash in-store, following the brand’s expansion.
Popular pie company, Pieminister, has opened a new restaurant in Derby offering local customers the opportunity to tuck into its well-known pie mixes.
The business has taken over a former betting shop on Victoria Street and says visitors can able find classic favourites, including steak and ale, and chicken and ham.
It will also serve up Pieminister’s signature dishes such as the plant-based Mooless Moo which was named the ‘Supreme Champion’ of the 2022 British Pie Awards.
Pieminister was initially founded by Jon Simon and Tristan Hogg in Bristol in 2003, after the pair experienced the various pie shops operating in Australia.
Since then, the brand has continued to grow, stocking food halls, pub menus, and its own restaurants.
The business remains under the ownership of Simon and Hogg and has aimed to keep ingredients fresh and ethically sourced.
Pieminister is certified B Corp. and has pledged to reduce its carbon emissions by 50 per cent with the goal of becoming carbon neutral by 2025.
Currently, the company’s kitchens are powered by sustainable energy and Pieminister is working towards making its packaging 100% recyclable or reusable.
The business has also aimed to create inclusivity within the typically meat-heavy pie industry, offering gluten-free and plant-based options.
Those in Derby can find the latest Pieminister branch at 34 Victoria Street, DE1 1ES.
