About Hallows Care
Beginning life as a small family run business in 2002, Hallows Care is now one of the largest home care providers in the UK, while retaining its personal, family feeling. From the early days as ‘The Vale Care Company’, the co-founders of Hallows Care operated their business by prioritising close relationships with both clients and staff. Hallows Care has since grown, rebranded, reorganised and become an effective, efficient care provider while retaining the friendly, approachable atmosphere that made it successful from the start.
Working closely with their staff and clients provided the Hallows Care team with insights into the real needs of people living independently with care support, and allowed them to develop their service before bringing it to market.
Offering the highest levels of care and real assistance to people requiring some support to live independently, Hallows Care provides domiciliary care and services to both private clients and those funded by Social Services. Experts in providing care to those who need it most, Hallows Care supports clients with personal care, daily tasks, medication, meal preparation and even social visits.
Proud of their reputation for quality and accessibility, Hallows Care strive to ensure their facilities remain locally run and locally owned, providing the best possible care to the surrounding community.
How does a Hallows Care franchise work?
Following the tried and test Hallows Care business model, franchisees are given licensing rights to operate under the Hallows Care brand for the duration of the agreement. They are provided with ongoing support through the specially developed ‘Franchise Support Centre’, which covers everything from day to day operations and business development to sharing their extensive knowledge and experience of regulatory standards and updated legislation, as well as monitoring franchisees for adherence to quality systems and procedures.
The Hallows Care franchise agreement has a five year term, and automatically renews at the end of that period. Extra territories may also be purchased at an agreed time.
How much does a Hallows Care franchise cost?
The initial Hallows Care franchise fee is £39,950 + VAT, with around £70,000 required to cover initial start up costs and working capital. The total Hallows Care franchise cost is therefore approximately £118,000, along with an ongoing monthly Management Services Fee of five per cent of total turnover + VAT.
Finding funding to cover the Hallows Care franchising cost
Hallows Care franchise team can introduce potential franchisees to the main banks specialising in franchising in an effort to secure funding. These banks have an understanding of the Hallows Care franchise business model which makes the process easier for applicants.
What do you get for your Hallows Care franchise fee?
The Hallows Care franchise fee covers everything the franchisee needs to launch their new business. The franchise package includes a comprehensive operations manual, access to a care software system, support and guidance through the Care Inspectorate registration process, assistance with staff recruitment, hosted email and personalised pages on the Hallows Care website – they will even provide your staff with their first uniforms.
What training is provided for Hallows Care franchisees?
An initial four week training programme at Hallows Care Head Office covers all operational aspects of the business. The comprehensive training also includes everything franchisees need to know about the day to day running of a Hallows Care franchise as well as sales and marketing to launch their new business. Continued training is also available throughout the term of the franchise.
What marketing support is provided for Hallows Care franchisees?
Hallows Care franchise owners are given access to the Head Office marketing team, who offer assistance with creating a marketing plan for the new business. Covering both traditional and digital marketing methods, the Hallows Care team also help franchisees to build relationships with important local stakeholders and carry out market research in their area. Fliers, banners, business cards and stationery are also supplied.
Do Hallows Care franchisees need experience in the care sector?
No, a care background isn’t necessary as full training will be provided for both the franchisee and their social care workers. Instead, Hallows Care franchisees should have the desire to run their own successful business, a passion for people and care and plenty of time to invest in getting their franchise started. New franchisees will need to find the right balance between management and a hands on, practical role within their business.
Where do Hallows Care clients come from?
Hallows care franchises can have two separate revenue streams – social services clients and private clients. Franchisees are given help and guidance in dealing with their local authority in order to gain social services referrals for elderly and mentally infirm people along with people with mental health, physical or learning disabilities.
At the same time, Hallows Care franchises can generate alternative revenue streams by offering various care services to private clients including those requiring personal care, domestic tasks, meal preparation and even simple treatments.
Can I run a Hallows Care franchise from home?
Possibly. While a Hallows Care franchise is not a home based business opportunity and must be run from suitable premises within the franchise territory, some franchisees’ homes may have a suitable office space within them. The Hallows Care franchise team are happy to discuss the possibility, and retain final approval.
Does a Hallows Care franchise cover an exclusive territory?
Yes. An exclusive franchise territory is defined and included in the Hallows Care franchise agreement. New franchise territories are currently available throughout the UK.
Why choose a Hallows Care franchise?
With people living longer and the government promoting the option of independent living for the elderly, a Hallows Care franchise is perfectly placed to benefit from the new and growing market for domiciliary care.
Hallows Care have developed their business model over a period of years and have extensive knowledge and experience of this sector which they share with new franchise owners in order to help them avoid expensive commercial mistakes. While the brand has grown and flourished, Hallows Care franchises remain part of a close-knit ‘family’ while other care franchise opportunities may have a more impersonal, corporate feel.
But most importantly, Hallows Care pride themselves on the high quality care and outstanding services they provide to their clients, so franchise owners can take satisfaction from the fact that they are supporting their clients to live happy and independent lives.
Does Hallows Care help with regulatory and legislative compliance?
Yes. Care legislation may differ depending on the territory’s location, but typically includes an Act, Regulations and Minimum Standards that must be adhered to. Hallows Care franchise owners are given access to a comprehensive resource library which offers guidance on compliance with the relevant policies, procedures and guidelines.
Each Hallows Care franchise must register with the Government Care Regulator for the relevant region, which can take up to 14 weeks to process. While the franchisee is responsible for achieving the final registration, Hallows Care will offer support, advice and guidance throughout the process.
How can I apply for a Hallows Care franchise?
After an initial conversation which will provide more information on Hallows Care franchise opportunities, interested parties are invited to meet the franchisor in person at a Discovery Day to discuss the opportunity in more detail along with available territories. Once the territory has been agreed on, a deposit is paid to secure it. Next, the balance of the franchise fee is paid and the Hallows Care franchise agreement is signed.
