Franchise veteran Nigel Toplis, managing director of The Bardon Group, gives us the inside track on his latest charity cycle ride for WellChild
First of all, many thanks to all those who have given generously in aid of my charity cycle ride for WellChild.
I’ve been doing daft things in aid of WellChild for many years, including climbing Kilimanjaro, cycling across Cuba, walking the Sahara and trekking through the jungles of Sumatra.
One more challenge
I know I’m completely mad and it’s true that I’ll be 59 before I even do this challenge, but I’ve decided to do one more extreme challenge for charity.
In brief, in October this year I’m going to be taking part in an intensive nine-day cycle ride from Saigon to Angkor Wat in 90 per cent humidity and 90 degree heat. It should be a doddle!
Once again, I hope to raise plenty of money for WellChild, a charity that helps sick children and their families deal with the consequences of serious illness and other complex issues.
Any charity that focuses on children is well worth supporting and there are many such charities out there. But all I can say is that WellChild is a super charity that works very hard to provide programmes, support and research in its field.
Make a donation
If you can make a donation, I - and the charity - would be grateful. To make it easy, I have set up a web page at www. justgiving.com/fundraising/Nigel- Toplis.
If you would prefer to write a cheque, please send it, made out to WellChild, to the address below.
I know we all get loads of requests from charities, so thank you for considering this one.
If any company wants some publicity, I’m open to sponsoring any part of my body - so long as it’s clothed.
