Karl Dietrich, chief development officer at TRIB3, explains why 2020 is going to be a big year for the brand
What differentiates TRIB3 from other franchise and boutique fitness operators?
At TRIB3, you don’t just get a workout, you get a workout experience. This is the exciting thing about the franchise fitness market: it’s allowing for a transformation in the way members and users are looked after at club level.
TRIB3 is at the forefront of this booming market, offering a scientifically proven HIIT workout in a luxury, industrial setting, fusing intense results with unparalleled customer service. One studio with three elements, our HIIT classes are across treadmills, resistance and intensity (TRI), all topped off with a luxury shake bar and retail offering.
What differentiates us though is our purpose. We are genuinely passionate about bringing likeminded people together for next-level workout experiences. One family, worldwide - we sweat together. Alongside our franchise partners, we want to create a global fitness movement.
How many clubs are you currently operating?
TRIB3 has been trading since 2015 and has 10 clubs currently operating in the UK, Spain, Finland, Russia and China, with lots more potential sites on the radar across a number of international markets.
What does the pipeline look like for TRIB3?
From a franchise perspective, 2020 will be a big year for TRIB3, with the first UK franchised facility opening in Manchester in April. It’s an exciting market for us, as boutique fitness is booming in the city centre. Manchester will also be the hub for our flagship training facility, allowing us to nurture the best coaching talent to ensure the continued high calibre of the TRIB3 product.
The UK is central to our growth, as the heartland of the brand. We plan to open 10 facilities in the UK in 2020, including franchise and corporately owned TRIB3 clubs, and we’ve already got some fantastic prospective franchise partners in conversations with us. Recruitment across other countries will naturally continue, but we expect our UK footprint to expand massively through the coming year.
What about beyond 2020? What do your longer-term plans look like?
We have huge growth plans over the next five years across multiple markets. This is why we’ve focused on investing in our new group board, so we can offer unrivalled expertise to our franchise partners. This includes the addition of a new chief finance officer and chief marketing officer working alongside myself and our vital experience team. This investment in the TRIB3 central team ensures our franchise partners have access to the best experience and knowledge to support their continued success.
How do you become a TRIB3 franchise partner?
TRIB3 is for franchisees with £130,000 or more, offering high returns and a fast break-even. A full turnkey service, we have established global partnership agreements on all equipment and construction, as well as access to third party finance and real estate services.
When a franchise partner takes ownership of a TRIB3 boutique studio, they gain access to established systems, our expert team and our world-class branding. And as they build their own TRIB3 family, we’re there by their side offering constant support and training with a dedicated consultant at hand all the way.
