F45 helps former professional rugby player continue his passion for sports and fitness

George Crook got hooked on F45 in London and decided to open his own studio in Blackwall

Former professional rugby player, George Crook, has always been motivated to succeed. After suffering a severe injury to his lower back, George was sadly forced to retire and decided to embark on a career in the insurance industry in London.

Although he left his professional sporting days behind him, George stayed in close contact with his team, who lived as far as New Zealand and Australia. He also kept his passion for sports and fitness and started to miss the feeling of training with a team. Through Instagram, George noticed that more and more of his former team had started training at F45, and he was keen to give it a go himself when it opened in London.

Fast forward a few years, George was hooked on F45 and decided to leave the insurance industry behind to set up his own studio in Blackwall. George made this decision, with the encouragement of his wife who had recently quit her job to fulfil a lifelong desire to become a nurse, to follow his heart and pursue a career he was passionate about.

As a result of the global pandemic and the impending UK lockdown in March 2020, F45 Blackwall took their studio sessions online, offering live-at-home workouts which enabled their coaches to carry on training with members through cardio, strength and stretch classes. F45 Blackwall has received a huge level of support from its members throughout the lockdown period, as well as from their coaches, who have continued to motivate and help members with their training and form, as well as keeping them accountable by providing a structure to their days.

George said: “We at F45 Blackwall are proud of the community spirit we have maintained throughout lockdown, and all share the same goal to help each other, and members, reach their fitness goals. We are really excited at the prospect of reopening our doors soon and will be following all government guidelines to ensure the safety of our members and staff.”
