Cafe2U assisted Macmillan Cancer Support’s attempt to raise £9 million on September 30
The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning is one of the largest single fundraising events in the UK. Last year over £8 million was raised from 45,000 coffee mornings.
This year Cafe2U franchise partners from around the UK reported a brisk day’s trading, with Daniel from Cafe2U Sunderland North raising £117 in donations alone.
Taking part in his first World’s Biggest Coffee Morning, Stephen from Cafe2U Wakefield decorated his van with balloons and reported a 33 per cent increase in takings.
He also saw quite a few new faces, who have continued to visit the van since the event.
Antonio form Cafe2U Merton arranged a guessing game with customers having to estimate how many coffee beans were in a jar, raising an additional £36.80 on top of his usual coffee sales.
Nobody managed to guess the correct amount, but the best guessers were rewarded with an extra stamp on their loyalty cards and the customer who came closest received a free coffee.
