Graeme: We service gaps in the logistics market which other companies are unwilling or unable to address. This includes offering solutions for customers who have complex or difficult packaging and freight needs.

At the heart of this opportunity is a business that can securely pack and safely send items that are fragile, large, awkward, or valuable. Our customers range from private individuals to global brands.

PACK & SEND has been trading in Australia since 1993, with our first UK service centre opening in 2009. Ultimately, it means our franchise opportunity provides an established business model which differentiates the brand and succeeds in the UK, just as much as it does in its original market.

What support do you provide to franchisees for a successful launch?

The support starts before a franchisee’s service centre opens. This includes advice on selecting the perfect premises and how to hire a team.

In the first year, we match marketing spend and guarantee a minimum number of sales leads.

There’s also a PACK & SEND advisor on-site when the business starts trading as well as ongoing back-up through our intranet, management reviews, and regular franchise partner events.

What do you look for in franchisees?

PACK & SEND is first and foremost a people business which prides itself on delivering unparalleled customer care and providing solutions for customers with complex or difficult packaging and freight problems. It’s critical every franchise partner we take on understands and empathises with this.

To ensure a good fit, we have a structured and considered approach for selecting franchise partners and are very clear on the skills that we love to see in applicants. These include sales and customer service, attention to detail, listening skills and confidence in basic computer applications.

However, no previous experience in the logistics industry is required and full training is given to every successful applicant.

What kind of backgrounds do PACK & SEND franchisees usually come from?

Our franchise partners come from a range of backgrounds, but they’re all comfortable in a sales environment, share a passion for people, and have a desire to deliver world-class customer service.
