“Seeing franchisees flourish is incredibly rewarding,” says Lucinder Dickinson

It’s no surprise that Blossom takes great pride in the wraparound support network it provides to support its franchisees. From setup and compliance through to marketing and hands-on business growth mentoring, its franchise support team works to set franchisees up for sustainable success. Members of the team include Kyle Thorpe, who helps to support new franchises, and Jo Bell, a former CQC regular and care specialist with over 35 years’ experience in the sector. She ensures new Blossom business owners hit the ground running with the right processes in place.

Recently, they have been joined by Lucinder Dickinson, the business’ new franchise manager. Lucinder brings extensive experience and knowledge in care leadership and compliance within domiciliary care to Blossom’s support network. Demonstrating her motivation and driven nature, she was the youngest registered manager to ever sit a CQC interview at the time of doing so.

In this Q&A, Lucinder shares her career journey to date, her passion for mentoring, and what she believes makes Blossom such a tempting franchise opportunity.

Hi Lucinder! How did you get started with care?
Lucinder: I actually started my career managing a franchised pub, but I soon realised my real passion lay in care. My mum had always worked in care, and I have fond childhood memories of visiting care homes she managed with her. That early exposure sparked something in me, so I decided to switch careers and join a home care provider. That’s where my journey began, and I haven’t looked back since!

How did your career develop before joining Blossom?
I started as a care worker and quickly progressed to supervisor. From there, I moved to another home care provider to first become a care coordinator, then deputy manager, then a registered manager. In that post I managed various branches, troubleshooting issues to make them become compliant and successful.

That experience gave me a deep understanding of what’s required to achieve operational success, which I’ve brought with me to Blossom.

Why did you choose to join Blossom?
Before joining, I researched the business extensively, and I discovered its ethos and values aligned perfectly with my own. The focus on premium care, high standards, and supporting franchisees really stood out in particular.

I joined in August 2023, starting out as a registered manager, before recently moving into my new franchise manager role.

What does your role as franchise manager involve?
My job is all about mentoring, training, and supporting franchisees. I work with them from day one to ensure they have everything they need to succeed. It’s not just about the business side of things, though. I’m also here to support franchisees personally, helping them build the confidence to manage their business effectively, using the hands-on experience I’ve gained over many years.

What do you enjoy most about working with Blossom franchisees?
It’s truly inspiring working with them all. What I enjoy most is being part of their journey from the very beginning and witnessing their growth and success. Seeing the franchisees flourish and deliver outstanding care to those in need in their communities is incredibly rewarding.

How would you describe Blossom’s team and culture?
Just brilliant. All the staff I have worked with are very supportive, kind, patient, and caring people. They are inspiring, and it’s lovely to work with the team here. Everyone is on the same page with the same goal, which is to ultimately deliver the best care possible.

There’s a strong sense of community among the franchisees too, which means new business owners always have people to turn to for advice and encouragement. I am so proud to be a part of this family.

Finally, what would you say to someone considering a Blossom franchise?
