“It’s all part of an annual incentive across the whole of the Driver Hire network designed to help each of us grow our business,” said joint franchisee, Lee Statham. “We were also the winners in the first round and, with one round to come in autumn, we’re going to be pushing hard to be the first office to score a hat-trick!”
Earlier this year, Statham, who’d previously been the office manager, was offered the opportunity to take a joint stake in the business.
Each competition begins with a single “National Sales day”, where the whole of Driver Hire’s 100-plus office network competes to see how many appointments they can book in a single day. Live television broadcasts keep competitors up to date with the scores. Points are then earned throughout the following eight weeks when appointments are turned into business, resulting in office growth.
The competition’s success has resulted in turnover being well ahead compared to the same time period last year.
“I invested my own money in the business and that does make a massive difference to the passion and approach you bring to your job. Of course, our success to date is a team effort. When it comes to sales, we’ve stuck to the basics; making the calls, following up and then doing face-to-face visits,” said Statham.
Along with a trophy, the Driver Hire Crewe team chose a £2,000 voucher prize.
Graham Duckworth, Driver Hire’s franchise sales director said: “National sales competitions are another example of the comprehensive support package we offer to help franchisees develop their business and maximise its potential. Crewe is to be congratulated on their success.”
