In addition to bringing the GDK experience pitch-side, the club will be introducing life-size cardboard cut-outs of fans in strips donning the German Doner Kebab logo, and even holding their own kebab
The Scottish football club has teamed up with the healthiest doner kebab brand on the high street to bring the German Doner Kebab (GDK) experience pitch-side.
The club will be introducing life-size cardboard cut-outs of fans in strips donning the German Doner Kebab logo, and even holding their own kebab.
The new partnership will allow fans to invest in their very own cut-out to sit within the stadium and have the chance of seeing themselves on-screen during televised games.
The gourmet kebab chain has plans to open another Scottish store in Hamilton next year, which will bring with it 40 new jobs to the town.
The kebab franchise now employs over 1,000 people throughout the country, with 35 new restaurants opened in the UK during the past four years and a development pipeline of 350 franchise units over the next seven years.
Daniel Bunce, German Doner Kebab MD for UK and Europe, said: “We are excited to be launching our new partnership with Hamilton Academical.
“With football fans missing out on games and being starved of the action during lockdown we felt this was a great opportunity to bring the German Doner Kebab experience to the public in a fun new way, and we look forward to bringing many more engaging activations to the club’s loyal fans.
“As a Scottish headquartered business and with plans in place to bring our healthy kebabs to Hamilton next year, for us, it was the perfect time to be sponsoring a club on our home turf.”
Colin McGowan, Hamilton Academical Football Club CEO, said: “HAFC are ecstatic with our brand new sponsorship package with world-renowned German Doner Kebab.
“Not only promoting healthy kebabs, but they are also planning to announce around 40 new jobs next year in our local community in Hamilton, which is magnificent.”
