Home Instead franchisees celebrate 15 years of caring

Jill and Bryn Evans have grown their business substantially, employing over 160 caregivers, 27 office staff, and generating an annual turnover of £3m+

Home Instead franchisees in Sheffield and Barnsley, Jill and Bryn Evans, have just celebrated 15 years in business.

As one of the first franchisees for Home Instead in the UK, they have built an amazing, successful business over the past 15 years, including buying multiple neighbouring territories to expand their home care services to more ageing adults across Yorkshire.

The husband and wife duo first set up their Home Instead business in 2006, taking a huge leap of faith with the brand, as home care was relatively unknown. But they shared the ethos and passion and knew how valuable their home care services would become to local communities.

15 years later, the pair have grown their business substantially, employing over 160 caregivers, 27 office staff, and generating an annual turnover of £3m+.

Neither Jill nor Bryn had a background in care, with Jill working in advertising and marketing and Bryn holding a role in IT consultancy. One thing they shared was a real desire to make a difference, and a passion to run their own business.

Jill had a personal experience trying to find appropriate care for her grandfather. Upon learning about home care as an option, something which was relatively new to the UK market 15 years ago, Jill knew it presented a better option for many older people.

She said: “Looking back to where we started 15 years ago, we are so proud, not only of the growth we have achieved but how Home Instead has grown as a brand. The way in which franchisees are supported and helped in their businesses by the national office team has progressed so much, and we really are honoured to have such an amazing team behind us.

“Franchisees joining the network now are joining a well-established, award-winning network which really is becoming a household name.”

The pair followed their passion, and are now able to enjoy the work-life balance and rewards of growing their own business 15 years on having built a team they trust and who are dedicated to delivering high-quality home care services.
