Meyers, the award-winning home-based estate agency franchise, has reported record results, confirming the exchange on 330 per cent more properties in the first six months of 2021 compared with the same timeframe in 2020.
Mark Meyer, CEO, Meyers Estate Agents confirms: “Due to COVID-19, the past 18 months have shown us some extraordinary times. The stamp duty holiday plus buyers’ desire to move to properties with gardens and home offices fuelled by the home working revolution, has created a booming property market. Our franchised agents, who are mainly home-based, were already well placed to accommodate altered working conditions but the increase in business and the results we’ve seen in the past six months have been incredible.
“For example: in 2021 we put 220 per cent of the amount of sale fees under offer as a company, compared to the same period of 2020. Despite the restricted flow of property to the market in 2021, we have been asked to attend 117 per cent more appraisals than during the same period in 2020. Our franchisees are busier than ever, with one home-based franchisee agreeing on sales on just shy of £9m worth of property in the first five months of 2021.
“It is possible that the market will cool slightly for the second half of the year, although we are not seeing any signs of reduced activity yet. Therefore, there has never been a better time to move into the property market.”
Over the past decade, Meyers’ unique business model has proved the need for an expensive high street presence is no longer necessary provided all the systems, training and infrastructure is in place for agents to offer clients exceptional levels of service combined with better digital marketing.
Meyers thrives on local connections, reputation and recommendations and is now looking for more franchisees to join as it continues to build its award-winning, sustainable business without the high overheads of a high street location. “Low-cost franchise opportunities are available for the most suitable candidates with strong links to their local community. Successful franchisees will have excellent communication and people skills. In short, they will be people who care,” adds Mark.
