Mike Stead to succeed John Barr after his 21 years in the business
After a successful resale process, Mike Stead has officially become the new owner of TaxAssist Rugby. Mike bought the financial services franchise from John Barr who had held it since 2001.
John reflected fondly on his time in the industry. He said: “It’s fair to say that the TaxAssist I joined back in 2001 is a world away from where the franchise is today. So much has changed in the industry with regard to technology and regulation, but I can honestly say that TaxAssist has been there for me every step of the way and I would not have built the business up as I have, without the team’s expert help and support.
“After a rewarding and enjoyable 21 years, I’m pleased to be handing over to Mike, who is an accountant with more than 30 years of experience, so my clients will be in good hands going forward.”
Mike and John are currently working together in a handover period for the business, getting Mike familiar with the team and clients at this long-running franchise.
Mike said: “I’ve long held the ambition to run my own practice and I’ve loved meeting with clients and getting to know more about their businesses. By partnering with TaxAssist Accountants, I know that my clients and I have that extra layer of expertise and support, so a win-win situation for all concerned. I look forward to further growth and expansion in the years ahead.”
