Panku street food kiosks begin recruiting nationwide

Snowfox Group has begun recruiting franchisees to take over its established Panku street food kiosks in supermarkets across the country

Panku street food brings together the flavours of East and Southeast Asia in one place. This includes rich Japanese, punchy Korean, and fresh Thai flavours.

Kiosks currently serve restaurant quality sushi and Asian street food inside Asda stores across the UK.

The business is currently looking for franchisees to operate one or more street food kiosks, some of which are already generating revenue and profit. Panku plans to target a captive customer base to best position franchisees to make significant personal earnings.

The brand is looking for enthusiastic, entrepreneurial street food lovers to join Snowfox UK Group as Panku street food franchised kiosk owners.

Investors will be their own bosses, running their own business, while receiving full training and support from ‘best in class’ experts. Panku says the opportunity offers significant earnings potential and flexible working.

Customers will be Asda shoppers. In 2023, Asda’s UK market share was 14.3%, which means almost 15% of all people who regularly visit a supermarket walk past a Panku street food kiosk when they go shopping. A typical supermarket sees an average of 4,000 customers per day in any given area.

Products, which include sushi rolls, chicken katsu curry, and gyoza dumplings, are prepared on-site daily and customers can choose their meal from the stocked kiosk shelves.

There are currently more than 125 Panku street food kiosks in Asda stores across mainland UK. Snowfox Group has plans to open up more locations in 2024 which it will also franchise.

Panku’s sister brand YO! Sushi, which is also part of the Snowfox Group, similarly has kiosks located in Asda and Tesco supermarkets in the UK, all of which are being franchised.

Panku is looking for franchisees who will either act as single kiosk owner/operators themselves, or who would like to own and operate multiple kiosk locations. The brand says franchisees need to be people with the energy and passion that comes from a direct personal investment in the brand to really shine through to our customers.

Franchisees should be prepared to work in their kiosk and manage its day-to-day operations, but experience in the street food or sushi sectors isn’t an absolute requirement.

Previous management and leadership experience, the ability to demonstrate strong business acumen, and the skills required to lead and motivate a busy team are also seen as desirable attributes.

Franchisees will receive a comprehensive training programme designed to equip them with the skills and knowledge to make their new business a success.

The training takes place across two to three weeks, in advance of taking on a new kiosk. This includes one-week academy training from the very best in the organisation, followed by one to two-weeks of practical training in a nearby kiosk.

The cost of investing in a Panku street food kiosk in Asda, varies depending on the current sales of the kiosk. Panku will discuss the exact cost if a potential franchisee contacts them about a location. However, franchisees can expect to pay from:

• £20,000 plus VAT for a kiosk turning over up to £3,000 per week.
• £25,000 plus VAT for a kiosk turning over between £3,000 and £4,000 per week.
• £30,000 plus VAT for a kiosk turning over between £4,000 and £5,000 per week.

There are some established kiosks achieving a turnover of more than £5,000 per week and they will be priced accordingly; all the brand-new openings are £35,000 exc VAT.

As an established, ongoing concern, each kiosk will not require further costs. No investment is necessary to lease and outfit a premises, or to buy equipment.
