The British Franchise Association has shortlisted care service Rise for Emerging Franchisor Award
Rise, which provides physical and mentally stimulating activities to the elderly and those in care, was originally founded as Mobi-Game 2018.
In 2021, the brand became Rise and opened its first franchise in 2022.
The brand has seen fast growth and is on track to have 16 franchised territories.
In response the news of Rise’s shortlisting, Trevor Brocklebank, co-founder of the franchise said he was proud.
“It is a fantastic testament to our franchise owners and activity leads who have already made a difference to more than 1,000 individuals so far this year,” said Brocklebank.
The winner of the Emerging Franchisor Award will be announced at an awards dinner in Birmingham on Thursday 9th November 2023, following on from The BFA’s annual conference.
Pip Wilkins, chief executive of the BFA said: “We were very impressed with the overall standard of entries we received this year. Notably, it was great to see new brands entering for the first time and the strength of the next generation of franchisors and franchisees coming through.”
Gillian Morris, UK head of franchise, commercial banking at HSBC Bank, the sponsor this year’s awards, also said that the standard of candidates has been strong.
“I was really impressed at the diversity of entries across brands and sectors, which is a great testament of the strength and reach of the franchise industry,” said Morris. “I am looking forward to meeting the finalists and wish them all luck.”
