After four years owning BabyBeats Sheffield North, Beki has expanded her business to introduce Mindful Movers classes
What initially drew you towards Mindful Movers?
I was drawn to developing my skills in Mindful Movers for a couple of reasons. One, because I felt that was a natural progression for the babies as they developed into toddlers to provide a class which continued to support children and their parents during this development. Secondly, parents who came to the end of their BabyBeats time desperately wanted to continue with the style of class I taught. When Mindful Movers was developed by Rose and the BabyBeats franchise, I was hugely delighted and was eager to jump on board with the training.
How long have you been teaching BabyBeats?
I have been teaching BabyBeats for around four years now, initially, when I wanted to progress my career away from corporate employment, I wasn’t sure how to do this. With in-depth research, I came across BabyBeats and immediately felt that this was the perfect way to go.
Did the course meet the expectations you had before attending?
I had no expectations as to how the course would go as I had only experienced health care courses and adult pilates courses previously. All I knew was that I was excited and motivated to learn. The course completely set me up ready to become a BabyBeats instructor and I was supported all the way by the founder, Rose. I trained with her face-to-face with a very interactive format, meaning I could really get a feel for how the class was taught and accepted by the participant.
Did you find your course tutor knowledgeable?
The course tutor was highly knowledgable and motivated to empower the student to be as passionate about BabyBeats and its ethos as she is.
Do you feel you will be well supported in your new business?
Absolutely, I had never run my own business before and having Rose’s support was invaluable. I was able to ask her any question, no matter how silly I felt. She was there to listen to my initial first-year jitters and to keep me motivated to continue to work hard. She was absolutely right; it has been worth every bit of hard work to get to what I truly believe is my success today.
After doing your course, what stood out as the biggest benefit to joining BabyBeats and Mindful Movers?
Being able to help provide a safe and supportive environment for parents and their children from birth to 12 years old, to nurture their connection and sustain their health – what a privilege that is.
How have you found the team members you have met or spoken to so far?
I have met Rose and also my BabyBeats franchise neighbour Katie, who is just starting out on her journey. It’s lovely to be able to support each other in person, but also with the rest of the franchisees in our Facebook group. It would be lovely to have a national event to be able to meet all franchisees, share inspiration and motivation and enjoy getting to know each other.
