The British Franchise Association’s has revealed the theme of this year’s annual EWIB event is ‘Making your moments count.’
The event takes place Wednesday 27th September at Select Car Leasing Stadium in Reading and aims to support and inspire women in the business world.
There will be a variety of keynote speakers on the day including notable names such as Sam McAlister, interviews producer of BBC 2’s Newsnight, Eniola Aluko, FA Women’s Cup Winner and Premiere League champion, and Harpreet Kaur, winner of BBC 1’s The Apprentice.
Other sessions include:
- ‘Coaching and collaboration’ by Emily Price, COO of the BFA.
- ‘Embrace your authentic self and advocacy’ by Anne-Marie Martin, founder of diddi dance.
- ‘Surround yourself with positive circles’ by Jane James, founder of Little Voices.
- ‘Overcome self-doubt and unlock your potential’ by Lucy Campbell from Right at Home.
- ‘Discover the power of teamwork’ by Vicky Macqueen BEM from Didi Rugby.
- ‘Build meaningful connections’ by Rebecca Newenham from Get Ahead VA.
Dr Hannah MacKechnie, founder of Radfield Home Care said the event has created an opportunity to elevate the role of women in franchising.
“Having a female only event allows the agenda to be more directly focused on topics that are highly relevant to the audience, creating more opportunities for authentic and open conversations,” said MacKechnie.
“It inspired me to implement initiatives that empower and support women in my own franchise network. I will be attending again in 2023 and am looking forward to building more connections with like-minded women who are all focused on creating a more inclusive, welcoming sector that encourages other women to want to be a part of it.”
Emily Price, COO of the BFA Academy agreed that previous years of EWIB had proven useful in preparing for challenges in business.
“EWIB22 had a profound impact on my mindset, equipping me with the tools to approach future obstacles with determination and excitement. Not to mention, the event deepened my connections, strengthening my valuable support network. It was a truly transformative experience,” said Price.
Empowering Women in Business will be open to all women in franchising and a BFA membership is not necessary for entry.
