This is the brand's first franchise on the south coast
Pam Gordon will be running Rise‘s latest franchise in Brighton & Hove.
Pam lost her grandfather last November and felt inspired to create a business that would improve people’s wellbeing in his memory – and of course, she chose a franchise.
When she heard that her long-time franchise contact, Trevor Brocklebank, had launched Rise with its unique seated sports programme, she jumped at the chance to get involved.
Rise activities are tailored to people’s physical ability or cognitive capacity to bring health and wellbeing benefits. Sports such as hockey, rugby and tennis have all been adapted so that they are accessible.
This resonated with Pam. She said: “My granddad received care at home and then moved into a care home. They didn’t offer a lot of activities and then COVID made the situation worse.
“It really brought home to me the importance of exercise to keep both the mind and body fit. When I heard about Rise, I thought of granddad and how much he would have enjoyed taking part in these adapted sports activities.”
She has worked in the franchise world for over 20 years, most recently as a consultant with The Franchising Centre, where she will continue, working for franchisors including Prestige Nursing and Carewatch.
Co-founder Trevor said: “We are delighted to have Pam on board. She brings a perfect blend of franchise, care and healthcare knowledge which is ideal for the Rise brand.
“This is our first franchise on the south coast; it’s fantastic to see our coverage grow as we look to bring seated sports to more and more people.”
Rise Brighton & Hove brings the franchise’s territories to five.
“It’s great that we now have territories operational in the North West, South East and Wales. We are really excited about the conversations we are having with a number of prospects at present and look forward to bringing you more expansion news soon,” he continued.
