Franchisees get involved with charitable and grassroots causes, using their power as local businesses to help in whatever way they can
Property search franchise, X-Press Legal Services, supports the conveyancing sector across England and Wales, with 27 local offices assisting legal firms closely. But X-Press franchisees are also deeply involved in their local community and are glad to give back to charity, local organisations and groups whenever possible.
The team at X-Press head office are so proud of the ways their local franchise offices get involved with charitable and grassroots causes, using their power as local businesses to help in whatever way they can.
Helen Foster and Claire Ide, owners of X-Press Legal Services South and West Yorkshire, recently organised a charity gala which raised £2,300 for the national charity, Breast Cancer Now.
For Helen, herself a breast cancer survivor, the evening held particular significance. She said: “It was great to get people together again after an unusual few years. Our previous event had a great turnout, with everyone enjoying themselves and raising a great amount for a truly amazing charity. We were pleased to be able to do this again and raise an incredible £2,300 for Breast Cancer Now.”
Many X-Press offices have used their CPD training seminars as an opportunity to fundraise for local causes. For instance, David Mermod, owner of X-Press Legal Services Central, encouraged attendees of his first-ever CPD at Coventry Building Society Arena to bring along donations of Easter Eggs which were donated to a local children’s hospital, while Jo French, owner of X-Press Legal Services Essex, Cambs and Herts, donates money from her CPD each year to a local hospice, recently donating a huge £300 from her event.
And the head office team in Warrington continue to donate to Circus Starr, a North-West based not-for-profit organisation which runs magical circus shows for children with additional needs, illnesses or disabilities, as well as those from vulnerable or low-income backgrounds. Further to this, X-Press offices are always supporting grassroots sports teams within their local communities.
At Christmas time, many X-Press offices give to local organisations to help people have a more enjoyable festive period. Keith Moseley, owner of X-Press Staffordshire and West Midlands, donated £500 to Santa’s Black Country Toy Appeal, which distributed gifts to children who may not otherwise have received one at Christmas.
Dave Lister, financial and sales director at X-Press said: “It is always a joy to see so many of our franchise owners giving back to local organisations, charities and groups. Through owning their own businesses, they are having an impact on their community and it is something we are so proud of. These actions really bring people together and improve their lives, and what’s not to like about that!”
