Chris Roberts named chairman of revamped Chantry Group

Chris Roberts QFP has been announced as chairman of the new-look Chantry Group. This accompanies the launch of a new franchise resale service in the coming months

Roberts will be bringing a wealth of business, financial and franchising expertise to the newly created role at Chantry.

Having established Franchise Finance as a popular provider of funding applications and business planning support in UK franchising, Roberts and his business partner, Stuart Walsh, sold the company to Hitachi Capital earlier this year.

Roberts will be working closely with owner and managing director, Chris Cook, to support the Chantry team on the expansion of its existing marketing and franchisee recruitment services, in addition to the launch of a new comprehensive business resale service.

Roberts said, “I am delighted to accept the position of Chairman of the Chantry Group and I’m looking forward to my non-exec role and working with Chris (Cook) and the team to grow three distinct but complementary divisions.”

Cook is hoping that Roberts’ business planning experience, industry knowledge and contacts will be a game-changer for the business and its clients as it will now be in a position to help even more franchisors and franchisees.

The Chantry Group franchise resales service will launch in October and will guide franchisees through the preparation, valuation, promotion, negotiation and sale of their business from start to finish. The new division will be led by a highly experienced franchising professional, who will be announced in the coming months.
