The company held a conference in Florida for its members to meet and share their achievements
Tutor Doctor’s international franchise network came together in December from the USA, Canada, the UK, Australia, South Africa and Latin America to meet in Orlando, Florida and reflect on the last 12 months. It was the first in-person conference since the pandemic, and the growing team of over 350 franchisees are committed to raising the standards of education for students worldwide.
Keynote speakers included director of strategic alliances Michelle Campbell, CFE, and published author and entrepreneur, Omar Soliman, among others. Adie Twining, a Tutor Doctor franchisee, also took to the stage to offer his expert insight. Adie, as well as being awarded this year’s New Franchisee of the Year, discussed the unwavering efforts he and his team have dedicated towards supporting his community through the Ukrainian refugee project.
Frank Milner, global president of Tutor Doctor, believes this opportunity for celebration was the ideal way to see out the end of 2022 and take the international community of franchisees and education specialists into an exciting new period for the brand.
He says: “It was fantastic to finally come together as a network after such a long wait! As an international franchise, we have a diversity of driven, passionate entrepreneurs who’ve been waiting for this opportunity, not only to be recognised for their hard work, but to share thoughts and ideas among like-minded individuals within the network.
“That’s really what makes our franchise tick. This year has been incredibly successful and I’m immensely proud of the achievements we’ve celebrated in both the education and franchise industries. By taking the time to celebrate our achievements, we’ve affirmed our collective goals, and we can’t wait to use them as a springboard taking us into 2023 and beyond.”
A black-tie awards evening capped off the conference, with the UK franchise network dominating categories as both winners and finalists. Although some franchisees didn’t bring an award home, every award category saw nominations from UK franchisees, who have been credited for an exceptional 2022.
This included Rob and Lynne Kerrison of Tutor Doctor Cambridge and Norwich, who were the third-highest-performing franchise financially across the entire international network this year. Piyush Gupta of Peterborough, Huntingdon, and Stamford won the Franchisee of the Year Award, and Mark and Jo Butler of the Reading, Wokingham and Maidenhead branches won the Hall of Fame Award.
