Logiscool successfully switched courses from on-site to online and welcomed new master partners
A quick reaction to the COVID-19 crisis resulted in positive changes to an international education franchise network.
Logiscool switched its coding classes from face-to-face to online in a matter of days, just as its newest school was about to be opened in Taiwan, the company’s 16th partner country.
Because of feedback from its foreign partners, Logiscool’s Hungarian headquarters was well informed about how the pandemic was evolving across the globe.
Logiscool founder Dr Anita Breuer says: “Thanks to our Asian schools, we knew we were going to switch to online education way before the Hungarian government announced the closure of schools.
“We are familiar with the virtual world, but this transition required a lot of effort from us too.
“Our methodology relies on a fun-based approach to computer coding education and personal encounter is a vital part of that.”
Logiscool knew that keeping children’s attention in the online space wouldn’t be easy, so as well as transforming its on-site courses to online ones, the company also devised a new web-based course for beginners.
Logiscool built on the experiences of their best teachers and the knowledge of their curriculum development team and as a result Logiscool LIVE! coding courses began in April.
“This is a huge step for us, both on the Hungarian and international level, as this way we can finally reach students living far away from Logiscool schools,” Anita says.
“There were countries where we had to take a break, as it was necessary for the adoption of our educational methodology to the online space. We had one week for this transition.”
As the pandemic took hold, the role of MyLogiscool, the online portal developed for children, became crucial.
Pre-COVID-19 it was mostly used for community building, but it quickly become the primary platform for online teaching.
Over 1,200 new educational videos were made available on MyLogiscool and students were given the opportunity to book online consultations. And because of Logiscool’s franchise model, the new system could be developed in a short space of time.
During the transition to online education, Logiscool welcomed new master partners in Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Nordrhein-Westfalen in Germany.
Anita adds: “With five more currently on the way to joining, we are confident Logiscool really is a recession-proof franchise.”
