This role will play a key part in the brand's goal to double the size of its franchise network in the next three years
Wayne Albutt’s (pictured) two decades in the property industry, working across South Africa and the UAE, have given him a wide view of the market. Since his move to the UK with his family in 2020, his passion for creating an excellent consumer experience has continued. His experience of supporting a 450-strong network of agents as regional development director for Keller Williams will stand him in good stead as he joins EweMove as its new director of growth and development.
Having just set its latest seven-year plan at its national franchise conference, including a goal to double the size of the franchise network in the next three years, EweMove has highlighted this role as a key influencer for success. Not only will Wayne support new franchisees joining the 170-plus strong network, but he will also help those established franchisees take a bigger share of their local markets.
Wayne said: “Working in the estate agency business should be exciting and fun - my formula for a great property franchise business is that if the customer wins, then the franchisee wins and so does the franchisor. Providing direct support to franchisees is a niche I carved out for myself in South Africa and led to opportunities further afield which I’ve really enjoyed. So, when I was looking for a new challenge in the UK, I focused on EweMove as I could see their brand and team were both fun and exciting but also progressive and agile. Having met with The Property Franchise Group and EweMove, they had the attitude and strategy I was looking for in my next step.”
Wayne continues to take those steps carefully with brands he feels are committed to the best consumer experience. “So many businesses purport to have strong values but don’t actually follow through. I’m a huge believer in the strength of values and culture in a business, they keep everyone connected and it filters down into the customer experience. I can see and feel the culture that EweMove lives by,” he explained.
Nick Neill, managing director of EweMove, was pleased to welcome Wayne to the team: “It was clear how closely our values were aligned when I met Wayne. I’ve no doubt his drive and ability to support agents’ growth through even the most complex of markets will make him a great addition to the brand.”
Wayne joined at the perfect time to be fully immersed in the EweMove network as they recently met up for their first in-person conference in two years. It was no surprise that he stepped up to present the award for exceptional customer service recognition, highlighting his passion for this area of the business. This year’s worthy recipient was Amy Dodd from EweMove Taunton.
