The Australian brand’s first franchisee owned salon in the UK did over 100 haircuts on its grand opening day, smashing its target of 75.
Franchisee Magda Deaconescu, whose business opened in Wandsworth, south London at the end of March, admits she and her husband, Costi, were nervous the night before the big day.
“But as soon as the ribbon was cut at 9am, the salon was full, which was an amazing feeling,” she says.
“We had some really positive feedback from customers and a few of them even returned the next day just to say hello. It’s safe to say it was a successful launch.”
Magda was assisted by Just Cuts’ academy team, who flew over from Sydney to offer moral support, and plans to open five salons in the Greater London area this year.
“I was interested initially in becoming a multi-site franchise owner, having seen that regularly happen with the franchise network in the southern hemisphere,” she says.
“The success of the salon in Wandsworth brought it home for me - we’re now looking at spaces in Walton-on-Thames for our second salon.”
